Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
We do not test the finished product for conductivity as part of the QC testing specifications. However, conductivity testing is done in our water system on a daily basis. This is the water system used in the manufacture of cell culture media and reagents made at the Gibco site.
Conductivity testing is performed according to USP specifications. The USP specification is that conductivity be not more than 1 micromho/cm.
These two products are the same water. However, Water for Injection (WFI) for Cell Culture has undergone more testing, including conductivity measurement as well as testing for nitrate and total organic carbon.
