Can I visualize Alexa Fluor 488 dye using the EVOS M7000 Imaging System?

Yes, you can visualize Alexa Fluor 488 dye using the EVOS M7000 Imaging System. The system supports the GFP light cube, which is compatible with Alexa Fluor 488 dye. This allows for effective imaging of samples stained with Alexa Fluor 488 dye.

For more details on compatible dyes and light cubes, please refer to page 126 of the EVOS M5000 Imaging System User Guide (https://assets.thermofisher.com/TFS-Assets/LSG/manuals/MAN0018326_EVOS_M7000_Imaging_System_UG.pdf).

Can I upgrade my EVOS M5000 Imaging System (Cat. No. AMF5000)?

Yes, you can add different objectives, wavelength LEDs, vessel holders, OnStage Incubation (temp/humidity/CO2/hypoxic), even image analysis software (Celleste) at any time. If needed, we also offer an upgrade path to the fully automated EVOS M7000 Imaging System as well.
Please contact Technical Support at tech.support@thermofisher.com for more information.

How do I turn on the 'phase mode' on the EVOS M7000 Imaging System for use with my phase objectives?

The phase mode can be activated after a phase objective has been installed and assigned in the software. A small orange triangle with letter 'B' appears in the corner of the transmitted light button. This toggle can be clicked and the orange 'B' (brightfield) should change to green 'P' (phase), activating the phase mode.

What warranty does the EVOS M7000 Imaging System come with?

The EVOS M7000 Imaging System comes with a standard 12-month warranty. We offer an additional 1-year extended warranty that can be purchased separately at any time (contact Technical Support at techsupport@thermofisher.com for details). We also offer EVOS M7000 Imaging System Extended Warranty Package (Cat. No. A42844) that provides the EVOS M7000 Imaging System with the standard 12-month warranty plus a 1-year extended warranty.

During a scan routine with the EVOS M7000 Imaging System, I noticed that my fluorescent samples ended up out of focus. How can I correct this?

First , we recommend setting the autofocus function to "autofocus" in every well/ field to correct for topographical changes across the plate. Z-Offsets specify the optimal focus position in each channel relative to the focus position in other channels. Setting the correct Z-Offsets is especially important when the fluorescent markers in different channels are in different focal planes. For best results, optimize the Z-Offsets in the Capture tab, and then carry the offsets over to the Automate tab. For detailed instructions on how to set the Z-offsets, please see pages 50-52 of the EVOS M7000 User Guide (https://assets.thermofisher.com/TFS-Assets/LSG/manuals/MAN0018326_EVOS_M7000_Imaging_System_UG.pdf).

In the EVOS M7000 Imaging System, what are the options for displaying images? What is the file format of saved images?

Available color options for displayed images are Grayscale (16-bit) and Pseudo-color (24-bit RGB; 8-bit per RGB channel).

Available File format for displaying and saving images are: TIFF, PNG, and JPEG.

I'm imaging my fluorescently stained samples on EVOS M7000/ EVOS M5000 imaging system and I can't see any color on the displayed image. How do I visualize my images in color?

Toggle image color display provides an option to display images in pseudo-color or in grayscale in the Viewing area. By default, pseudo-color display is on. Click the Image color display button to display the sample pseudo-colored in the default emission color of the selected channels. Click again for grayscale display.

To change the default pseudo-color, you can go to Settings Tab-> Filter cubes and adjust the pseudo-color for a selected channel to the desired color.

The EVOS M7000 Imaging System comes with 3 individual parts (microscope base, computer and LCD monitor). Can each of these be replaced individually, if necessary?

Yes, the EVOS M7000 Imaging System is serviceable on site by our expert EVOS engineers who will be able to replace any defective parts. All service or replacement requests will be channeled through the Technical Support team (techsupport@thermofisher.com).

How do I setup my new EVOS M7000 Imaging System?

The installation of the EVOS M7000 Imaging System is performed by a highly trained FAS (field application specialist) who will ensure that your system is setup correctly and functions perfectly. The FAS will also provide a hands-on training for your lab members on the day of installation, to ensure that everyone feels comfortable with setting up and using the system. Technical Support can be also reached at 541-335-0353 (in North America) to assist with any additional questions. In other regions, please dial your local Technical Support contact number.

How do the specific parameters on an objective relate to my application and how do I select the right one for my EVOS imaging system?

Please find a comprehensive objective selection guide in the link below. It provides detailed guidance based on sample type, vessel type and mode of imaging.
