Description
α-Chymotrypsin readily acts upon amides and esters of susceptible amino acids. In addition to bonds involving aromatic amino acids, it catalyzes at a high rate the hydrolysis of bonds of leucyl, methionyl, asparaginyl, and glutamyl residues.
