Cefoperazone sodium salt, MP Biomedicals™
Description
- It is used to study drug-protein binding, expression and inhibition of penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) during cell wall synthesis.
- Cefoperazone sodium salt is a broad spectrum third generation cephalosporin antibiotic that has similar antimicrobial activity to ceftazidime.
- It is active against Pseudomonoas aeruginosa and it has enhanced activity against Enterobacteriaceae and Bacteroides sp. in the presence of the beta-lactamase inhibitor sulbactam. Compared to cefotaxime, cefoperazone has greater susceptibility to hydrolysis by some beta-lactamases.
