Description

The Borosilicate Salt Bridge is used to connect the oxidation and reduction half-cells of a galvanic cell. It allows ions to flow from one solution to the other without mixing and allows the solutions to remain electrically neutral.

  • Comprises an inverted U-tube with its ends closed by sintered discs.
  • For use in experiments involving the measurement of cell EMF under conditions of forward, zero and reverse current flow.
  • This apparatus provides a more effective method of making reversible cells then the wet filter paper or agar gel methods.
