Bacto Brain Heart Infusion, porcine, is used for cultivating a wide variety of microorganisms. It was developed as an alternative to the classical Brain Heart Infusion formula and replaces calf brain and beef heart with pork brain and heart. Bacto Brain Heart Infusion, porcine, was formulated with no bovine components to minimize bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) risk.
