Human Caveolin-1 (residues 1-17) Synthetic Peptide, PEP-146, from Invitrogen.

Caveolin-1 or CAV1 is a scaffolding proteins within caveolar membranes. It interacts directly with G-protein alpha subunits and can functionally regulate their activity. Caveolin-1 is also involved in the co-stimulatory signal essential for T-cell receptor (TCR) mediated T-cell activation. It can bind with DPP4 and induces T-cell proliferation and NF-kappa-B activation in a T-cell receptor/CD3-dependent manner. Mutations affecting the CAV1 gene can result in congenital generalized lipodystrophy 3, pulmonary hypertension primary 3, or partial lipodystrophy/congenital cataracts, and neurodegeneration syndrome. PEP-146 is a 17 amino acid synthetic peptide whose sequence is from human caveolin-1. The sequence of this peptide is (amino to carboxy terminus): M (1)-S-G-G-K-Y-V-D-S-E-G-H-L-Y-T- V-P (17)This peptide may be used for neutralization and control experiments with the polyclonal antibody that reacts with this product and the human caveolin-1, catalog &Num; PA1-064 and PA1.1-064. Using a solution with equal weights per unit volume of peptide and corresponding antibody will yield a solution with a large molar excess of peptide that is able to competitively bind the antibody.Reconstitute with 0.1 mL of distilled water.
