HIV1 p17 Recombinant Protein, RP-4914, from Invitrogen.

HIV-1 Gag p17 is the matrix protein of AIDS virus HIV-1 and is processed by the digestion of its precursor Gag p55 by HIV-1 protease. This protein is indispensable to the reproduction of AIDS virus and constitute the essential element of the of AIDS virus particle construction.
Host Species: E. Coli
Formulation: 20μg purified protein (0.23mg/mL) in TBS with 50% glycerol, 0.01M beta mercaptoethanol and no preservative; pH 7.5
RP-4914 is a recombinant protein in over-expressed in E. coli with a plasmid carrying the Gag p17 coding region of HIV-1 virus, subtype B, and highly purified by several steps of chromatography. RP-4914 can be used as a positive control in Western blotting and ELISA with antibody anti-HIV-1 p17 (PA1-4954, PA1-4955, or PA1-4956). Also, it can be used as standard for the quantitative analysis of HIV-1 p17 antigen. RP-4914 has a calculated molecular weight of ∽17 kDa.
