Stoddard solvent, also known as mineral spirits, white spirit, petrolelum naptha, or paint thinner is a petroleum distillate used as a common solvent in paints, varnishes and asphalt, and in degreasing and dry cleaning. It is a mixture of aliphatic and alicyclic C7 to C12 hydrocarbons.
