Detect and cultivate Salmonella in dried foods and feeds using Thermo Scientific™ Remel™ M Broth (Dehydrated). This enrichment medium was first formulated in 1969 by Sperber and Deibel using an accelerated serology technique1. This media increases rapid growth of Salmonella, improve flagella development and prevents nonspecific agglutination of bacteria cells used in serology techniques. It is currently recommended by the AOAC International Official Methods of Analysis, and Microbiology Laboratory Guidebook for the detection of Salmonella in foods2-4.
Accelerated detection and cultivation of Salmonella in dried foods and feeds using M Broth.
- Accelerated Serology Technique: For detection of Salmonella in dried foods and feeds which prevents delayed transportation of bulk feeds to the market place unlike previous methods.
- Recommended by the AOAC International Official Methods of Analysis, and Microbiology Laboratory Guidebook for the detection of Salmonella in foods2-4.
This medium is used for qualitative procedures. This medium contains casein peptone that provides amino acids and nitrogenous compounds necessary for the bacterial growth and yeast extract that provides B-complex vitamins. Mannose is the carbon source and serves to prevent fimbrial agglutination in serological techniques. Polysorbate 80 acts as a surfactant and dispersing agent.
