The addition of a single Caspase-Glo reagent in an “add-mix-read” format results in cell lysis, followed by caspase cleavage of the substrate, and generation of a stable “glow-type” luminescent signal. The signal generated is proportional to the amount of caspase activity present. The system now includes a separate vial of a protease inhibitor, MG-132 Inhibitor, which may be used to reduce background, thus improving the performance of the Caspase-Glo 9 and Caspase-Glo 8 assays in cell-based applications.

  • Utilize a proprietary thermostable luciferase, Ultra-Glo™ Recombinant Luciferase, which improves performance across a wide range of assay conditions
  • Do not require sample preparation, sample manipulation, or extended incubation time—maximum sensitivity is achieved in as little as a half hour
  • Provide excellent signal-to-noise ratios and superior sensitivity, allowing assays to be performed in 96- or 384-well formats
