Description
ApplicationsPiperazine acts as an intermediate for pharmaceuticals, polymers, dyes, corrosion inhibitors, rubber accelerators and surfactants. It is used as a raw material in the manufacture of plastics, polyamide resins, urethane and brake fluid. It is also used for carbondioxide and hydrogen sulfide gas scrubbing mediums. Furthermore, it serves as an epoxy curing agent.
Solubility
Soluble in water, chloroform, glycerol, glycols and alcohol. Slightly soluble in benzene and heptane. Insoluble in ether.
Notes
Air and light sensitive. Hygroscopic. Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents and strong acids.
