Applications
Octanoyl chloride is used to produce adhesives. It is used as an acylating agent for a variety of compounds such as sugars (e.g. Sucrose, aromatic compounds (e.g. Anisole and monoglycerides.

Solubility
Soluble in organic solvents (acetone, chloroform, toluene, THF). Hydrolyzes in water.

Notes
Moisture Sensitive. Incompatible with Bases, Alcohols, Amines, Oxidizing agents. Store away from alcohol and amines.
