Hard seal laser tube ensures a long shelf life.

  • Transmit a voice or encode the beam with a tone signal
  • Measure the speed of light by modulating the beam's brightness
  • Signal source may be a crystal microphone, signal generator, TV camera, tape recorder, etc.
Laser Design
  • Sturdy extruded aluminum housing contains laser tube and all components
  • Rubber strips along the bottom prevent scratching and slipping on furniture
  • Standard, 0.25 in. threaded hole in the bottom is ideal for tripod or optical bench mounting
  • Solid-state power supply is mounted on a strong, printed circuit board
  • Two connectors on laser permit a source signal to drive the laser tube
  • Miniature phone jack may be used for signals with 100mV peak-to-peak and a 60K impedance
  • BNC connector is available for signals with 1V peak-to-peak and 8K impedance
  • Operation time: 20,000 hours continuously
  • Achieve low-cost yet high-frequency 500kHz modulation by varying the current of the laser
  • When not modulated, laser produces full-rated power
  • During modulating, power ranges from 85-100% of full power
