Interleukin 6 is a cytokine secreted by T cells and macrophages, has shown to exhibit activity in response to tissue damage and infection. They have also been found to be involved in various other activities like development of blood, cancer, embryonic development, and regulation of the immune system. IL6 is included in a family of other cytokines which include ciliary neurotrophic factor, cardiotrophin-1, leukemia inhibitory factor and interleukin 11. IL-6 can bring about differentiation through a receptor system which requires a specific receptor and a signaling subunit, gp130.Description: The MQ2-13A5 antibody reacts with human interleukin-6 (IL-6), a 21-28kDa cytokine secreted by a variety of cell types.Applications Reported: This MQ2-13A5 antibody has been reported for use in intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis.Applications Tested: This MQ2-13A5 antibody has been pre-titrated and tested by intracellular staining and flow cytometric analysis of stimulated normal human peripheral blood cells. This can be used at 5 μL (0.125 μg) per test. A test is defined as the amount (μg) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 μL. Cell number should be determined empirically but can range from 10^5 to 10^8 cells/test. eFluor™ 450 is an alternative to Pacific Blue™. eFluor™ 450 emits at 445 nm and is excited with the Violet laser (405 nm). Please make sure that your instrument is capable of detecting this fluorochome.Excitation: 405 nm; Emission: 445 nm; Laser: Violet Laser.Filtration: 0.2μm post-manufacturing filtered.
