Description

Description

The p19 shares sequence similarity with IL-6 subfamily members and is distantly related to the p35 subunit of IL-12. It shows no biological activity by itself; instead, it combines with the p40 subunit of IL-12 to form a biologically active, composite cytokine, IL-23. IL-23 shares some in vivo functions with IL-12, including the activation of the transcription factor Stat4. Similar to IL-12, human IL-23 stimulates IFN-g production and proliferation of PHA blast T cells, as well as in CD45 RO (memory) T cells. Ubiquitous transgenic expression of the IL-23 subunit p19 induces multiorgan inflammation, runting, infertility and premature death.

A test is defined as the amount (µg) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 µL. Cell number should be determined empirically but can range from 10^5 to 10^8 cells/test. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest. eFluor® 660 is a replacement for Alexa Fluor® 647. eFluor® 660 emits at 659 nm and is excited with the red laser (633 nm). Please make sure that your instrument is capable of detecting this fluorochome. Excitation: 633-647 nm; Emission: 668 nm; Laser: Red Laser. Filtration: 0.2 μm post-manufacturing filtered.
