Interleukin 2 (IL2) is a secreted cytokine that is important for the proliferation of T and B lymphocytes. The receptor of this cytokine is a heterotrimeric protein complex whose gamma chain is also shared by interleukin 4 (IL4) and interleukin 7 (IL7). The expression of this gene in mature thymocytes is monoallelic, which represents an unusual regulatory mode for controlling the precise expression of a single gene. The targeted disruption of a similar gene in mice leads to ulcerative colitis like disease, which suggests an essential role of this gene in the immune response to antigenic stimuli.The JES6-1A12 antibody has been tested as the capture antibody in a sandwich ELISA for analysis of mouse Interleukin-2 (IL-2) in combination with the biotin JES6-5H4 (13-7021) antibody for detection and recombit mouse IL-2 (14-8021) as the standard. A suitable range of concentrations of this antibody for ELISA capture is 1-4 µg/mL. A standard curve consisting of doubling dilutions of the recombit standard over the range of 500 pg/mL - 4 pg/mL should be included in each ELISA plate. Endotoxin: Less than 0.001 ng/ug antibody as determined by the LAL assay. Storage and handling: Use in a sterile environment. Filtration: 0.2 μm post-manufacturing filtered.
