Process from 3mL up to 400mL of biological solutions using either concentration or diafiltration operating modes.

  • Sturdy construction; autoclavable Consist of clear pressurized vessel with integral magnetic stirring bar, nylon cap and tube fitting assembly, polysulfone body and membrane holder, acetal/polysulfone stirrer, silicone O-rings, and black aluminum stand
Concentration Mode
  • Gas pressure is applied directly to ultrafiltration cell Solutes above membrane molecular weight cutoff are retained in cell, while water and solutes below cutoff pass into filtrate
Diafiltration Mode
    Ultrafiltration cell is connected to auxiliary reservoir containing diafiltrate solution; reservoir is then gas pressurized Fluid volume and macrosolute concentration remain constant as filtrate is replaced by diafiltrate solution Provides a simple means for rapid microsolute exchange
  • Typically used as a substitute for dialysis

Applications:

Perform concentration, desalting, recovery or exclusion; Recover monoclonal antibodies and growth factors from tissue culture supernatants; Concentration and buffer exchange of chromatography fractions
