Applications
Chloroacetyl chloride is an intermediate in the production of alachlor and butachlor. It is used to prepare phenacyl chloride through Friedel-Crafts acylation of benzene.

Solubility
Miscible with ethyl ether, acetone, benzene and carbon tetrachloride.

Notes
Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents, strong bases, alcohols and water. Moisture sensitive.
