CD235a (Glycophorin A) Mouse anti-Human, FITC, Clone: HIR2 (GA-R2), eBioscience™
Mouse Monoclonal Antibody
Manufacturer: Life Technologies LS11998782
Description
Description: The HIR2 monoclonal antibody reacts with human glycophorin A, sialoglycoproteins expressed by erythroid precursors and mature circulating red cells. Applications Reported: The HIR2 (also GA-R2) antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis. Applications Tested: The HIR2 (also GA-R2) antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells. Binding of this antibody to red cells at high antibody concentration causes cell agglutination. This can be used at less than or equal to 0.03 μg per test. A test is defined as the amount (μg) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 μL. Cell number should be determined empirically but can range from 10^5 to 10^8 cells/test. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest. Excitation: 488 nm; Emission: 520 nm; Laser: Blue Laser. Filtration: 0.2 μm post-manufacturing filtered.
Glycophorins A (GPA) and B (GPB) which are single pass membrane sialoglycoproteins. GPA is the carrier of blood group M and N specificities, while GPB accounts for S and U specificities. GPA and GPB provide the cells with a large mucin like surface and it has been suggested this provides a barrier to cell fusion, so minimizing aggregation between red blood cells in the circulation.Specifications
