The TR75-54 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse Tumor Necrosis Factor Receptor II (TNFRII, TNFR-p80, TNFRSF1B, CD120b). TNFRII is expressed in a variety of cell types and strongly expressed on stimulated T and B lymphocytes. TNFRII is the main TNF receptor found on circulating T cells and is the major mediator of autoregulatory apoptosis in CD8+ cells. The soluble TNF receptors are truncated forms of cell surface receptors with neutralizing activity on both TNF-α and TNF-β. It has been suggested that the proinflammatory and immunosuppressive properties of TNF segregate at the level of its receptors and that the pool of TNF bound to soluble receptors could represent a reservoir to control the TNF release.
