Description
3-Pyridinemethanol is a useful synthetic intermediate. Among other uses, it has been used in the synthesis of histone deacetylase inhibitors. It is also used to solubilize riboflavin and as a peripheral vasodilator; alcohol analog of nicotinic acid; a direct-acting peripheral vasodilator that is used in vasospasm and threatened gangrene.
