Applications
2-Amino-4-ethylpyridine is used as a precursor to prepare 1-ethyl-3-[5-(7-ethyl-imidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-2-yl)-2-hydroxy-phenyl]-urea. It is also used as an intermediate in organic synthesis. It is considered as an analogue of pirlimycin, which acts as an antibiotic.

Solubility
Soluble in water, hexane, ethyl acetate and methyl tert-butyl ether.

Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents, strong acids and bases. Store in a cool place.
