Verifies performance of UV-visible detectors in UV spectrophotometers, HPLC, and CE detectors. Confirms detector wavelength settings and linear response when validating new methods—ideal for methods using extinction coefficients or factors. Quick, three-step method measures absorbance linearity, wavelength accuracy, and wavelength precision. Absorbance linearity. Kit uses holmium oxide solution as wavelength reference standard. Calibrates at 241, 278, 287, 361, 451, and 537nm. To check wavelength accuracy, fill cell with holmium oxide solution and measure absorbance ±5nm from target wavelength. Wavelength error is the difference between observed wavelength at maximum absorbance (λmax) and target wavelength.Wavelength precision. To determine wavelength precision, calculate wavelength accuracy, then set detector wavelength at least 10nm from target wavelength. Reset wavelength to target wavelength and record absorbance. Wavelength precision equals the relative standard deviation of five measurements.
